Your church is planning an event. You want to make sure that volunteers are on hand to help people who have mobility issues. These people belong to different groups such as Bible Study, Prayer Chain, etc. Use a tag to collect these people into a "Mobility" group for your event, while still leaving them in their original groups.

How to get to this page

Step 0

Log in to PastorsLine.

Step 1

Click on the More Menus (three horizontal dots, gold box + 1 in image below).

Step 2

More menu choices will open up (turquoise arrow and 2 in image above). Click on Tags. You will see something like the image below:

Let's take a moment to check out the right-hand black column.

Gold box in image above - Click on this to add a new tag. More below.

Turquoise arrow in image above: Sort

Click on this to organize your tag list. Read more about sorting here.

White arrow in image above: Search - Click on this to find a specific tag. Read more about Search here.

I. TO ADD A NEW TAG

Step 1

Click on New Tag. The Add New Tag box will pop up.

Step 2

Type your tag name on the line. If you are adding more than one tag, remember to put a comma or space between each tag.

Step 3

Once you type in a tag, an Add will appear (turquoise box in image above). Click on it.

NOTE that I have used a comma between my two-word tags. HOWEVER, since they are two words, let's see what happens.

EACH WORD was considered a tag - - - NOT what I had in mind.

This means that tags must be one word only.

If you use a hyphen (vegan-food), the hyphen will be ignored and your result will be veganfood.

I have deleted the tags using the X near each one. I have retyped the tags as one word to get the following result:

Step 4

When you are satisfied with your tag(s), click Save.

A message will confirm your success:

II. TO CONNECT PEOPLE WITH TAGS

Step 1

Click on the tag you wish to work with. We are working with "veganfood".

The [number] People in the Tag page will open.

Step 2

Click on Add People (turquoise box in image above).

The Add People to the Tag box will pop up.

TURQUOISE NUMBERS ABOVE

Step 3: Type in all or part of the name or number of the person you want to tag.

Step 4: PastorsLine will display the result(s) in a list.

Step 5: Choose the person/people you want to tag. Your choice will be displayed.

Step 6: Click Done to complete this action.

IV. TO DELETE A TAG

When you hover over a tag name, notice that you get more information about that tag (pop up box in image below) AND a trash can opens on the right-hand side.

Click on the trash can to delete your tag. The Delete Tag confirmation box will pop up. The message says "Are you sure you want to permanently delete this tag? The name(s) assigned to this tag will not be deleted. This action cannot be undone."

Click on the orange Delete Tag Only button to continue. Click on the X in the upper, right-hand corner to cancel your action.

NOTE: There is no archive option. If you wish to use such a tag in the future, you will need to add it again.

OTHER ICONS ON THE PAGE

All the icons should have hover names. In other words, if you hover over/around the icon, you should see its name. Often, that is enough to explain how to use it. If not, no problem. Check out our Icon List for more info.
