What happens when I send a regular SMS text message and the message is marked undelivered (due to specific error message codes we track)?

If the SMS message was sent via LONG code (your 10-digit local, number) and is marked as undelivered, we will auto-re-process your message using either the SHORT code or the SHARED toll-free number, depending on what you have selected in the Organization Profile page (V3) or the Organization Settings page (V2).

  2. If the SMS message was sent via the SHORT code and is undelivered, we will auto-reprocess your message using the SHARED toll free number INSTEAD of your LONG code.

What happens when I send a SMS text message that contains a LINK and the message is marked undelivered (due to specific error message codes we track)?

  1. If the SMS with URL message was sent via LONG code (your 10-digit local, number) and is undelivered, we will auto-reprocess using the SHORT code or the SHARED toll-free number, depending on what you have selected in the Organization Profile page (V3) or the Organization Settings page (V2) ].

  2. If the SMS with URL message was sent via short code and is undelivered, we will auto-reprocess your message using the SHARED toll free number INSTEAD of your LONG code.

What happens when I send a MMS message (text + image) and the message is marked undelivered (due to specific error message codes we track)?

  1. If the MMS message was sent via LONG code (your 10-digit local, number) and is undelivered, we first check internally to see if their carrier accepts MMS from short code. If it does, we resend your message using the SHORT code. If it does not, we will auto-reprocess your message using the short code but will convert the image into a URL instead of attachment.

  2. If MMS message is sent via SHORT code (OR toll free), we first check to make sure carrier receives MMS from a short code and handle accordingly (If it does, we resend your message using the short code. If it does not, we will auto-reprocess your message using the short code but will convert the image into a URL instead of attachment.) If it is still undelivered after all of that, we auto-reprocess your message again using using the SHARED toll free number INSTEAD of your LONG code.
