Integrating PastorsLine and Rock RMS gives your church improved 2-way text and voice communication and better relationships with your church members and first-time guests. This integration also reduces your workload. For example:

  1. You have already created contacts and groups on Rock. You have already captured important data. Why do it all over again? Just integrate with PastorsLine and enjoy the fruits of your previous labors.

  2. Communicate easily with your event volunteers before, during, and after your service.

How to set up the integration

You can do Parts A & B at the same time - copying and pasting the required info from Rock RMS into the integrations page in PastorsLine

Part A – Rock RMS

You will need to create a REST key in Rock RMS. This article will guide you through the how-to.

Part B – PastorsLine

REMEMBER: You need your REST key info to complete this part.

If you do not have it, please go back to Rock RMS and follow the steps below.

STEP 1: Click on Admin Tools: 'suitcase' icon at the bottom of the left-hand most column - (see orange box in image to the left).

STEP 2: Then click on Security.

STEP 3: Click on REST Keys.

STEP 4: You will see the information for all your saved REST Keys.
Make a note of the info you need (name and key #). You can also click on a detail line to edit the REST Key information or generate a new key.

NOW, IN PASTORSLINE...

Step 1

Log in to PastorsLine.

Step 2

Hover over Integrations and then choose Manage My Integrations (blue box in image to the left).

Step 3: The Integrations page will open.

Integrations are now separated into Active and Inactive. See blue boxes & arrows in the image below.

Since you have not yet set up Rock RMS syncing, it will be in the inactive section.

Step 4: Toggle on the button. It will turn purple.

***Toggle buttons: greyed out is OFF, purple is ON.

THE NEXT TWO STEPS ARE VERY IMPORTANT...

These must be done accurately for the integration to work.

EXAMPLE

STEP

Step 5: Paste/type your Rock RMS Site URL into the top entry line (see image below). This is the FULL URL you use to log in to Rock RMS from the 'https' up to and including the '.com' .

Example: C1E831GG1DC7848E7AF9C3EA71F821AGF

Step 6: Paste/type your Rock RMS Rest API Key into the bottom entry line (see image below). This is the FULL number of the key.

Step 7: Select your primary country to assign the default country code and ensure your messages are delivered. Click on Authorize Application.

Step 8:

Assuming your entered data is correct, you will see a green success message

Also, your Rock RMS integration panel will be toggled on (dot has turned purple) and is now in the Active section.

Now the initial sync is taking place. This can take up to 30 minutes but is usually completed in 5-10 minutes. When it is done, the system will send you an email letting you know.

Step 9: If you want PastorsLine to automatically sync overnight, toggle on Overnight Syncing (blue box in image below). The button will turn purple. This will automatically resync your account overnight. (This option is not available for all plans. You can check if it is available for you in your integrations page). If using overnight syncing, be aware of any campaigns you may be using with "send immediately" messages - you wouldn't want messages going out in the middle of the night to your contacts.

Step 10: You can also select Groups to sync (yellow arrow in image below).

Click on the Select Group(s) to Sync button. You will be redirected to a pop-up screen to select your groups. (The redirect may take up to 30 seconds.) These groups will be synced into PastorsLine as groups. Only toggle on groups you would like to be groups in PastorsLine.

Once your groups have finished syncing, they will show up in the Groups view.

PART C: AFTER THE SYNC IS COMPLETE

There are several ways to continue to manage your groups. Your choice depends on what you want to do and how many groups you wish to manage at once. This article will guide you through your choices: http://help.pastorsline.com/en/articles/8786117-v3-rock-rms-syncing-how-does-it-work
