In your message threads, an Automated Message Campaign SMS is easily identified by the title (gold box in image below) as well as the gear icon (turquoise box in image below).
Underneath the message are three options: Send Now, Edit, and Delete.
Two are kind of obvious, right?
But we want to speak about Edit.
If you click on Edit, you will be directed to the actual campaign page to edit the WHOLE campaign.
Here are some things to know:
It is always best to finalize your campaign before you start adding anyone into it, but if you cannot, or you do need to make some changes, please note the following information on what will and will not update when you make these changes.
Editing the message's content (the text box) will apply to everyone who is currently active in that campaign.
You can DELETE any messages in the AMC and those messages will also be deleted for everyone who is currently active in that campaign.
Any dates or times changed in the AMC messages will not update for everyone who is currently active in that campaign. It will only update for NEW people added after these changes are made.
Any new messages added to the campaign will not update for currently active people in the campaign. It will only update for NEW people added after these changes are made.
Your changes will reflect correctly for anyone added after your campaign is ready and finalized.
This is something new. This change was based on TONS of feedback from our church partners. They wanted the ability to edit the AMC and have those changes apply to ALL contacts who are active in that AMC. So now, if you need to edit a message's content related to an AMC, you need to do that in the AMC Campaign and these changes will apply to everyone who is active in the AMC.
What if you just wanted to edit it for just one person?
Step 1: Under "People", find the person you want to make changes for, and then go to that person's message tab:
Or, if you are in the "Messages" page and already viewing their message history in the inbox:
Step 2: Copy the scheduled AMC message that you want to edit
Step 3: Click on the message box to show more options.
Step 4: Choose "Delete" to delete the scheduled AMC message.
Step 5: Paste the copied AMC message in the text box, make any edits you would like (my edits are shown in blue squares below), then schedule your new message for whatever date / time it needs to go out on. Click Schedule to schedule this message.
This new scheduled message will now take the place of the deleted AMC message for that person.
