If you are not quite sure what we mean by "those blue dots", read this article first.
Right...now that we are on the same page, let's work through an example or two.
But before we do...please keep in mind:
If someone chooses to "reject" the duplicate, PastorsLine will automatically archive that person. This will show up in the change logs as "rejected" and tell you which user took that action.
BACK TO OUR EXAMPLES...
Click on People (person icon, turquoise #1 in image below). Two additional "parts of the puzzle" will display.
1.1 Unresolved Conflicts category

You will also see a message about this situation.
Click on Unresolved Conflicts.
Choose the integration whose conflicts you wish to resolve.
4.1 Select people
Click on the people whose profiles you wish to resolve.
4.2 "3 dots"
Click on the more actions menu.
4.3 Select people
Choose Smart Merge Wizard. The following pop-up box will display.
Note that there are two sections. Section 1 is resolution of close matches. That is, matches which PastorsLine is pretty sure about. If PastorsLine has found such matches, Section 1 will display. If not, not.
Section 2 is resolution of matches which are possible but PastorsLine is not as confident about them as those in Section 1. Again, if PastorsLine has found such matches, Section 2 will display. If not, not.
Click on View and Resolve. Your first conflict resolution screen will display:

Notice that there are two rows for Name. The row with the blue vertical line (turquoise arrow in image above) is the data from the PastorsLine profile. The row with the grey vertical line (grey arrow in image above) is the current data from the your chosen integration.
At the moment, the dot for the Current data is toggled on (purple). That means the name will be blank (no name).
To choose "Jason" as the Name, click to fill in the dot in the Blue row.
Repeat for the remainder of the items: Last Name, Email, and Phone.
Click on Merge to update the Current data in your integration with the new information.
Click on Reject to leave the Current data in your integration as is (no changes).
If you choose Merge, the Smart Merge Wizard notice will confirm your resolution (see green Section 1 in image below).
NOTE: If you have more than 1 close match in Section 1, PastorsLine will guide you to resolve each one in the same way as you did above.
Click on Launch the Wizard to start resolving Section 2 issues. Your first conflict resolution screen will display:
Notice that we have 9 conflicts to resolve in this section (brown arrow in image above).
If you do not want to resolve any of these conflicts, click on Reject All (turquoise box in image above). This action will archive these profiles.
If you do not want to resolve this particular conflict and move to the next one, click on Reject (gold box in image above). This action will archive this profile.
Note that the Compare and Merge (dark blue arrow above) is not available. This is because we have not made our selection yet.
If you wish to work with this conflict to try to resolve it, continue with the steps below...
Here is a closeup of part of the image above:
The top line (labeled in grey as Current) is the current data from the your chosen integration. The bottom two lines (labeled in blue as New) are two PastorsLine profiles. Your job is to decide which of the New profiles (if any) you want to merge with your Current integration profile.
We have chosen the first of the two New PastorsLine profiles to merge with our Current integration profile. That is why this line is bolded in the image above.
Click on Compare and Merge. The following screen will display:
Since the information under the Current column is toggled on, the Preview of Final Contact matches this information (brown line above). If we click on Merge, this would be the information sent to your chosen integration. That is, the Current information in your integration would be kept as is (nothing would be updated).
However, we want to include some of the New information.
Notice the gold box in the image above. If we want to select ALL of the New information, we can toggle on Select all new.
We have toggled on Select all new. Notice that the Preview of Final Contact matches this information.
However, the email is now blank. Even though the email does not appear to match the First Name or Last Name, it still might be the correct email. Peoples' emails do not always match their names. So, we are going to mix and match Current + New information in the next step.
We have chosen email from the Current information (turquoise arrow in the image above). The Preview of Final Contact has changed to reflect this choice.
Click on Merge (brown arrow in image above) to complete your update.
Click on Reject (bottom left-hand corner in image above) to keep things as they were (no changes).
Remember that it said "1 out of 9" in the image in Step 7 above? (Sure you do!) Notice that now it says "1 out of 8" because we have resolved one of the conflicts.
Repeat Steps 8-13 for each of the remaining conflicts you have in this section.
A turquoise exclamation point next to a group member's name (gold box in image above) indicates an unresolved conflict.
Click on the Exclamation point. The Merge Unresolved Conflicted Profile for that person will pop up.
The conflicted profile is in grey at the top.
Each line with a turquoise Merge label is a merge option.
Choose the one you want and click Compare and Merge (purple arrow in image above) to continue.
