Would you like to send messages from within your ChMS itself? In other words, no need to sign in to PastorsLine?

What is the default number when sending SMS?

The default when sending is always going to be the local number on your PastorsLine account or the local number you were assigned (if your account has more than one local number). However, you can make our PastorsLine shared short code, 77411 your default.

Since all our PastorsLine numbers are A2P approved, this means there is a low risk of your SMS being flagged as spam.

The main reason we were using the PastorsLine shared shortcode and PastorsLine shared toll-free number was to reduce the risk of your SMS being flagged as spam. With the A2P system, this should now be irrelevant.

So, we do not recommend making the PastorsLine shared shortcode your default (and as of January 1, 2023, it will cost you more to do so). We recommend using a local A2P number. Read more about why here.

HOWEVER, IF YOU STILL WISH TO DO THIS

Setting the PastorsLine shared short code as your default "send from" number is done in User Settings on the My Numbers page.

The page will refresh.

Step 1: Click on Settings (left-hand most column).

Step 2: Click on My Numbers (yellow arrow in image to the left).

Step 3: At the top of the My Numbers page, you will see the Set Short Code as your Default Sender ID toggle button (gold box in image to the left).

Step 4: Toggle it on. The button will turn purple (gold arrow in image below).

Also, a confirmation message will display.

The PastorsLine shared short code is now your default "send from" number.
