IMPORTANT NOTE
When you turn off your shortcode number subscription, any shortcode keywords you have been using will no longer work. If any of your people use one of these keywords, they will receive the following error message from your long code (10-digit) number:
Alert&Msg Service: Unrecognized command/keyword or took too long to respond. Pls check spelling. Reply STOP to opt-out / HELP for help
Of course, it is not a spelling issue but rather that your people are trying to use a shortcode keyword which no longer works. You may wish to let your people know which keywords they should no longer use.
You can go into a number of places to turn this off.
Once turned off, you will no longer be charged the $5/month or $50/year add on fee.
OPTION 1
Admin Settings --> Organization Profile --> Toggle off the Enable Short Code button (blue box in image below).
OPTION 2
App Settings --> General --> Messages --> Toggle off the Enable Short Code button (blue box in image below).
OPTION 3
Admin Settings --> Numbers --> Click on the 3-dot Menu (yellow arrow in image below)
--> Click on Release Short Code button (blue box in image below).
OPTION 4
Admin Settings --> Numbers --> Find the short code number. --> Hover on the right-hand side to reveal the Edit. Click on it.
Scroll down to the bottom of the pop-up box and click Release Number.
