Below are some answers to FAQs about PastorsLine keywords.

What is a keyword?

A keyword is a combination of letters and/or numbers which people text to your local, 10-digit number or to you via the PastorsLine short code. Keywords trigger automations like autoreplies and campaigns.

What are Local Number Keywords?

These are keywords which people text to your local, 10-digit number. As your number is unique, the keywords do not have to be. So, many churches can use the same keywords. As a result, there are no restrictions on what keyword you can use.

These keywords are free (no cost).

What are Short Code Keywords?

These are keywords which people text to you via the PastorsLine short code. As all PastorsLine partners use the same short code, the keywords have to be unique. So, only 1 church can use each specific keyword. As a result, short code keywords must be reserved and added to your account ahead of time.

There are several categories of short code keywords. Some are free (no cost) and some have prices. Here is more information about free vs. paid short code keywords.

Are keywords case sensitive?

No, because we ignore capitalization. For PastorsLine, a lowercase and/or uppercase (capitalized) keyword is the same.

What about special characters and spaces?

PastorsLine ignores both special characters (! :) . , etc) and spaces.
