It is most likely due to your mobile carrier. When long messages (up to 1,600 characters) are sent, our system segments them and gives them each a special header. This header data allows mobile carriers to ‘reconnect’ these long messages into one, single text message on the destination handset. This reconnection process is called ‘concatenation’. At the moment, Sprint does not support concatenation of messages longer than 160 characters.
